Mr. Zuran has been working in the nondestructive testing field since 1959, starting out
as a radiographer at Graver Tank in East Chicago, IN when nondestructive testing was beginning to blossom as an industry. Soon afterward he found himself managing an
independent testing laboratory south of Chicago, the heart and soul of heavy industrial
activity. Back then, wide spread certification was just catching on as it became clear
that NDT was a specialized field requiring a specialized education and training. As
there were few formal training programs back then, Alex was aggressive with his
training pursuits, learning all he could about multiple test methods. Mr. Zuran was and
continues to be instrumental in working with our technicians to continually train,
educate, and keep them certified. As President of PNL, Mr. Zuran maintains an active
professional lifestyle. In addition to owning and operating PNL, he still manages to get
out into the field on a regular basis keeping his skills fresh and keeping in touch with our
younger technicians as well as the needs of our Clients.
Alexander energetically followed in his fathers footsteps. While growing up in an
industrialized region, Alexander took advantage of the many educational opportunities
available. After graduating from Hutchinson Area Vocational Technical Institute (now
Ridgewater College) with a two-year degree in Nondestructive Testing in 1981,
Alexander worked his way through Purdue University - Calumet as an NDT Techncian
earning a degree in Engineering in 1987. After graduation Alexander moved to Arizona
and continued his career in NDT working as an Engineer for the Salt River Project, an
electric utility based in Phoenix. Keeping to his upbringing, he eventually found his way
back to the independent testing industry. As co-owner of PNL he brings a vast array of
Engineering, testing, and inspection experience to the table
providing the company with a strong technical foundation.
Kellie comes to PNL from California bringing with her a positive and enthusiastic
attitude. She joined our team in 2001 with experience in customer service and support.
As Executive Director, Kellie manages the administrative needs of PNL as well as
coordinating Client's needs with our diversified staff of technical professionals.
