PNL's management is committed to providing testing and inspection services of the highest quality on each and every project. To facilitate this commitment, PNL has developed a comprehensive quality control and training program in accordance ISO/IEC 17025:2005(E), ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel codes, American Welding Society (AWS) B5.4 Specification for Welder Test Facilities, ASTM E329 ICC Special Inspections and ASNT Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A requirements as well as customer specific requirements. As a third party independent laboratory our responsibility is to ensure that all tests and inspections performed by PNL meet the quality requirements of the contract, code, standard, or design specifications as well as our Clients requirements.
Training and Procedures are Instrumental
The quality of our services is dependent on our test personnel. To ensure our technicians can meet and exceed our quality requirements, PNL provides training and certification of all our personnel in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005(E), ASNT Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A, Personnel Qualification, Certification in Nondestructive Testing, ASTM and AWS standards.
PNL maintains written procedures for all test methods which our personnel perform. The test procedures detail test parameters, equipment selection, test materials, sequence of operations and acceptance criteria per plan, specification, and code requirements.
To ensure that our program is being implemented and followed correctly, all of our laboratory and field personnel are subject to periodic audits by PNL management for compliance with our Quality Program and procedure requirements.
Additionally, PNL's programs and personnel have been subjected to numerous customer and state agency quality audits and reviews including by the Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency (ARRA), Clark County NV, Arizona DOT (ADOT), the Texas DOT (TxDOT), and the Florida DOT (FDOT).
Review to Improve
Our industry and technology is ever changing, so our quality program is always improving. PNL's management team meets periodically each year to review our current procedures and our entire Quality Program. At these meetings our management team updates procedures or implements new policies as required to meet the ever changing technological and quality requirements of our industry. PNL is always striving to improve the quality of its services and these periodic reviews are vital to that goal of constant improvement.
